5 New Notion Features to Include in Your Templates

Building in Notion is like having an ever-expanding LEGO collection. You use different database properties, buttons, views, and other blocks to construct your own custom workflow. As new blocks arrive, they unlock entirely new ways to build.

Our latest features including forms, feed view, AI meeting notes, default reminders, and charts allow for endless customization. Let's use these new features to build a client portal.

—Sohrab

  1. Forms serve as the entry point, allowing clients to submit project requests.

  1. Feed view creates a real-time dashboard where your team can monitor all incoming requests and project updates in chronological order.

  1. AI Meeting Notes automatically capture and summarize client calls, extracting action items that you can add to your tasks database.

  1. Default reminders ensure nothing falls through the cracks by automatically notifying team members about upcoming deadlines and follow-ups.

  1. Charts provide visual insights into project budgets, team workload, and client activity patterns.

Creator Tip of the Week

From Tara Knight, the LinkedIn Fairy Godmother

Tip: Stop making creating content harder than it needs to be

Being a creator can feel isolating and overwhelming at times. But here's the thing, most of the stress comes from overcomplicating systems that should be simple and not asking for help. Here’s two focus areas to make your creator life much easier.

#1 Outline Your Content System

My entire content operation lives in two places:

  • Claude as my ideation partner (where I dump all my knowledge and let it help me think)

  • Notion as my content bank (where every idea, topic, and winning post lives for easy access)

That's it. No fancy tools, no complicated workflows, just two platforms that actually talk to each other in my brain. Inside I do the following:

Build Your Greatest Hits Archive 🏆 I keep a "content hub" in Notion with my top-performing posts. When I'm in a content crunch, I can quickly see what topics drove engagement and create fresh takes on proven themes. Plot twist: it's not only okay to repurpose content, you SHOULD! Your audience didn't see everything the first time, and good ideas deserve more than one moment in the spotlight. Duplicate my Content Bank Template here

Document Everything You Know (Seriously, Everything) 📝 That "obvious" thing you explained to a client yesterday? Write it down. The strategy that feels basic to you is probably gold to someone else. I keep expanding my knowledge bank because what's standard operating procedure to me is often exactly what other creators need to hear. Your everyday wisdom is someone else's breakthrough moment.

Make AI Your Content Brain, Not Your Content Writer 🧠 Claude Projects changed my content game completely. I've loaded my best posts into a project and use it to brainstorm ideas that actually sound like me. The key? It gets me 80% there, but I finish the last 20% with my actual thoughts and experiences. Think of it like having a writing partner who never gets tired of your random 2 AM ideas.

#2 Build Your Accountability Community

Crowd Source Your Goals & Dreams 🎯 Want to achieve something? Make it public. Seriously. Want to launch a podcast? Share it on LinkedIn. Dreaming of speaking at an event? Post about it. It's amazing for accountability, plus you never know who in your feed has the exact connection you need. I've seen (and helped) creators land dream opportunities just because they posted about wanting them. I recently launched a series called “Universe Requests” and so many people were eager to ask and assist in the comments.

Batch Like Your Sanity Depends on It ⚡ Sunday content planning sessions are non-negotiable in my world. I launched The Sunday Batchers Club where creators come together and create content live. During these sessions I map out my entire week of content, draft the posts, and schedule everything I can. I still post occasionally on a whim but it takes the pressure off of coming up with ideas on the spot

Remember: content should be fun, but it doesn't have to be hard!

Build a Database on Mobile

Notion on mobile just got a quiet upgrade. We made it way easier to start something in Notion, even if you're not at your desk.

You can now create a full database in a few taps right from your phone — using “Build with AI” and workflow templates!

You’re out filming. Just got off a brand call. Waiting for your coffee and thinking through next week’s shoot. Then an idea hits: a new series to try, a note about deliverables, something you don’t want to forget.

You can start building it while you’re out now. 🤯

It’s great for:

  • Logging brand deal details before you forget

  • Spinning up a content tracker mid-brainstorm

  • Planning shoots or posts while you’re out and about

Since most of us live on our phones, this makes getting things done easier wherever you are.
